‘League Of Legends’ 13.16 Patch Notes Bring Loads Of Buffs

Riot Games has released the patch notes for League of Legends update 13.16 and for the first time in a while it brings way more buffs than nerfs! There are also more changes to Naafiri, exactly 44 changes to the new Arena game mode, which is still great fun, and a plan to make Shaco less annoying, which will never be a bad thing.

New champion Naafiri has proven to be pretty strong both in the mid and top lane, which makes her a little more powerful than Riot intended. So she’s getting another round of nerfs that will impact her in both roles, but are more focused on making her less durable in the top lane. These come in the form of stat nerfs, with her base armor and attack damage being reduced by two and her base attack speed going from 0.688 to 0.663.

When it comes to buffs there is a ton to get through so you’ll want to take a look at the full patch notes to get all the info you need. However, one of the big highlights features a big buff for Ekko who is a super fun champion to play, but one that has not been particularly strong for a while. With patch 13.16 Ekko gets more base damage and slow on his Q, and a lot more shield from his W. On paper, these seem like good changes, so we might finally see Ekko played once again.

Milio, another recent champion who hasn’t quite hit the perfect balance stage yet, also gets some changes. Previously he got some nerfs to make him less viable for the pros, but now the aim is the make him better in solo queue and to do that his numbers have been changed to be weaker early on and stronger late in the game. His Q’s magic damage starts off lower but quickly grows more powerful than previously and his E’s shield just generally gets later level buffs.

Elsewhere Lulu gets some AP scaling buffs, Lucian’s passive damage has been buffed significantly and Caitlyn gets more headshots. There’s a ton of smaller buffs like this throughout the patch notes, so be sure to check them all out.

Finally, on the Rift changes, Shacko is getting some changes to make him less annoying, which for one of the most annoying champions in the game is never a bad thing. He gets less mana regen and his Jack in the Box mana cost is increased to 70 at all levels, so he can no longer just drop boxes all over the place and make it impossible to move.

Rounding out the patch are some changes to how surrender votes work, aiming to stop people using them to show they are annoyed with the game. Now each player has an individual six-minute cooldown on surrender votes after calling one, meaning they can’t spam it off the team cooldown all the time. The name of the player who wants to surrender is no longer shown, and it will now show what type of surrender is being called for. Votes will also disappear as soon as they can no longer be passed, instead of being on screen for ages until everyone votes.
